IOWA CITY, Iowa - After giving up 50 or more points to the Iowa Hawkeyes in the previous two dual  matches, Coe was able to hang with the 22-time NCAA Division I Champions.  Sophomore Dale Handley (Toddville, Iowa/Alburnett) earned a 4-3 decision at 157 pounds for Coe's only win in the 39-3 loss.At 125 pounds, 17th-ranked Matt McDonough of Iowa beat Coe's Clayton Rush (Aledo, Ill./Aledo) 18-3 in 5:29.  It was the first loss of the season for the third-ranked Rush.  Junior Bryan Telgenhoff (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Linn-Mar) was pinned in 2:46 by fourth-ranked Daniel Dennis at 133 pounds.

Sophomore Jordan Westfall (Riverside, Iowa/Highland) lost by major decision (14-4) to ninth-ranked Dan LeClere.  Top-ranked and defending National Runner-Up Brent Metcalf pinned senior Mark Carey (Raytown, Mo./South) in 1:45 at 149 pounds.

With Handley's win at 157 pounds, he became the first Kohawk to beat an Iowa wrestler in the three dual meets the two teams have had.  Sophomore Nick LeClere (Coggon, Iowa/North-Linn) lost a tough 6-5 decision to fourth-ranked Ryan Morningstar on riding time.  Junior Seth Rehn (Oceanside, Calif./Vista) was pinned in 1:25 by third-ranked Jay Borschel at 174 pounds.

In one of best matches of the day, second-ranked Phillip Keddy used a takedown with :04 remaining in the match, along with a point for riding time, to beat senior Tyler Burkle (Coggon, Iowa/North-Linn).  At 197 pounds, 10th-ranked Chad Beatty defeated senior Rob Kramer (Swisher, Iowa/Prairie)  11-5.  The Kohawks closed the match with Iowa's Jordan Johnson defeating Mitch Sander (Clarence, Iowa/North Cedar) 6-1.

The Kohawks will wrestle two more matches at Iowa Friday.  They will face Southern Illinois-Edwardsville at 12 p.m., followed by a match against North Carolina-Pembroke at 1:30 p.m.
