LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Coe College softball team will enter the NCAA Regional Championships ranked 25th in the nation according to the latest NFCA Top 25 Poll.
Ranked for the 11th-straight week, the Kohawks are 29-9 on the season and one of three Iowa Conference schools ranked in the poll. Luther remained third in the poll, while Central moved up a spot to ninth. The Kohawks own wins over third-ranked Luther, seventh-ranked Wisconsin-Whitewater, eighth-ranked St. John Fisher, ninth-ranked Central 23rd-ranked St. Thomas and St. Catherine, who is tied with the Kohawks for 25th. Four of Coe's losses have come to teams ranked in the top 15 in the nation. The Kohawks also remained second in the NCAA Regional Rankings.
Coe ranks 14th in the nation with 2.58 stolen bases per game, while ranking 19th with a 1.69 ERA. Coe's .763 winning percentage ranks 28th in the nation. Senior Mallory McArtor (Riverside, Iowa/Mid-Prairie) ranks 18th in the nation with .84 stolen bases per game, while Haley Jones (Waterloo, Iowa/West) ranks 31st with nine home runs.
The 25th-ranked Kohawks (29-9, 11-5 IIAC) return to action on Friday, as they face Washington University of St. Louis in the NCAA Regional Championships. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m. in Pella. A link to live video and stats is available at CoeAthletics.com.
