CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - For the second-straight year, senior Tucker Dangremond (Colorado Springs, Colo./Air Academy) has been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team.
A three-time Academic All-Iowa Conference selection, Dangremond was a member of a pair of record-breaking relays in the pool this season. With a sixth-place finish at the Liberal Arts Championships, the 400-yard medley relay broke the school record in 3:35.28. The 200-yard medley relay, which finished seventh at the Liberal Arts Championships, also broke the school record in 3:35.28. Dangremond was also a member of the second-best 200-yard medley relay time in school history this season, coming in at 1:38.63.
Dangremond also finished sixth in the 100-yard breaststroke at the Liberal Arts Championships in 1:00.29, while he was ninth in the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:15.04. Dangremond set the school record in both events last season, going 59.85 in the 100 and 2:13.83 in the 200. Dangremond is also a part of three other relays in his career that had top-10 times in school history.
Coe had two of the 15 members selected to the at-large team, as Brady Anderson from the tennis team was also named to the team. Four swimmers were selected to the team.
To be eligible for the team, a student-athlete must have a 3.3 cumulative GPA and have the proper athletic accomplishments to be placed on the ballot. The 2016-17 CoSIDA Academic All-District® At-Large Teams, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America, have been released to recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. With his selection to the first team, Dangremond is eligible for the CoSIDA Academic All-American team, which will be released on June 6.
