RIVERSIDE, Iowa - The Coe College men's golf team won the Blue Top Ridge Shootout on Sunday, beating Iowa Wesleyan by 14 strokes for the team title.
Luke Winker (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Xavier) led the way for the Kohawks, as he shot a 79 on Sunday to finish second with a 153 for the two days. Jason Gingrich (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Linn-Mar) was just behind him, shooting a 78 on Sunday to finish tied for third with a 155.
Hunter Livermore (Atkins, Iowa/Benton Community) shot an 83 on Sunday, as he finished seventh with a 160 for the tournament. Jake Van Oort (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Jefferson) and Cyril Spicer (Durango, Colo./Durango) tied for 11th with a 167 for the invite. Van Oort shot a 78 on Sunday, a new career-low, while Spicer shot an 85.
As a team, the Kohawks shot a 318 on Sunday. Coe's 628 for the two days was 14-strokes better than Iowa Wesleyan. Wartburg's Tanner Randall took top individual honors, edging Winker by a stroke.
The Kohawks return to action on Friday at the Midwest Classic in Galena, Ill.
