MEQUON, Wis. - Competing in the IIAC-NACC Challenge hosted by Concordia University-Wis., the Coe College Volleyball team suffered two losses to NACC teams.
Despite leading in kills 50-47, The Kohawks fell to the Aurora Knights 3-1 in their first match of the day (25-20, 25-16, 25-27, 25-23).
Lindsey Koch (Hudson, Iowa/Hudson) led the Kohawks in kills with 17, while Jaimee Rindy (Gypsum, Colo./Eagle Valley) had 11, and Aryn Meisinger (Gothenburg, Neb./Gothenburg) and Whitney Watson (Poplar Grove, Ill./North Boone) recorded seven. Rindy finished the match with a hitting percentage of .429, while also recorded two block assists.
Meisinger added another 34 assists, while Ali Arns (Waverly, Iowa/Waverly-Shell Rock) led the team in digs with 17. Madi Miller (Coralville, Iowa/West) (14), Sarah Lehman (Iowa City, Iowa/Regina) (12) and Meisinger (16) all recorded digs for the Kohawks. Koch also totaled 13 digs, earning her fifth double-double of the season.
Coe dropped their second match of the day to the hosting school, Concordia-Wis. 3-0 (25-13, 25-21, 25-15).
Against the Falcons, Koch led the Kohawks in kills (11) and digs (15), completing two double-double matches in one day. Arns recorded 11 digs while Koch and Rindy led the team in blocking with two assists and a solo for each.
The Kohawks return to action Saturday as they face the Dominican Stars and the Edgewood Eagles on the final day of the IIAC-NACC Challenge. The first match against the Stars is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. A link to live video and stats can be found at CoeAthletics.com.
