CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The Coe College Women's Soccer team clinches another Iowa Conference win against the Nebraska Wesleyan Prairie Wolves on a rainy fall Tuesday night.
Just six minutes into the first half, Ashlyn Moos (St. Charles, Mo./Francis Howell) scored unassisted on an open net to give the Kohawks the early 1-0 lead. The remaining minutes of the match went scoreless, as Coe clinched their 10th win of the season.
With the rain being a major factor in the match, each team recorded just seven shots each in the 90 minutes. Nebraska Wesleyan's Annie Platt led the Prairie Wolves in shots with three, all falling on goal.
Moos totaled three shots for the Kohawks, each falling on goal. Jordan Holmes (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Kennedy) and Sydney Schroder (Iowa City, Iowa/City High) also recorded a shot on goal. Guarding the goal for Coe was MJ Winterer (Omaha, Neb./Central), finishing the match with six saves.
The Kohawks are on the road Friday as they travel to Storm Lake to face the Buena Vista Beavers. The match is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. A link to live video and stats will be available at CoeAthletics.com.
