MADISON, Wis. - The Coe women's basketball team earned its first road win Tuesday night, as they defeated Edgewood 71-55.  The Kohawks had the hot hand from 3-point range, as they hit 10 and Edgewood hit just one.

Coe used a 12-2 run early in the first half to increase its lead to 18-8 with just under 12 minutes to play in the half.  With 5:46 to play in the opening half, sophomore Ashley Hood (Manchester, Iowa/West Delaware) hit a jumper that sparked an 11-0 run by the Kohawks.  Sophomore Leslie Ware (Des Moines, Iowa/Johnston) ended the run with three-straight 3-point baskets.

Junior Devvin Rolston (Clinton, Iowa/Clinton) scored the first five points of the second half for the Kohawks, which increased Coe's lead to 19, the largest of the game.  Coe would hold a double-digit lead for the remainder of the game.

Ware finished with a game-high 17 points, while hitting five 3-point baskets.  Freshman Kayla Waskow (Dunkerton, Iowa/Dunkerton) added 13 points, while also having three assists and three blocked shots.  Junior Kayla Lincoln (Maynard, Iowa/West Central) added 11 points, two blocks and two steals in the win.  She also hit three 3-point baskets.

Junior Sarah Anciaux (Iowa City, Iowa/City) had a team-high nine rebounds, while Rolston added seven and junior Kaitlin Breitbach (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Washington) had six.  Breitbach also had a game-high five assits, with Hood adding three.

Coe returns to action Jan. 2 against Grinnell.  Tipoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. at Eby Fieldhouse.
