CEDAR FALLS, Iowa - The third-ranked Kohawk wrestling team opened the NWCA National Duals with a 30-7 win over 21st-ranked Heidelberg (Ohio).  Three Kohawks earned bonus point wins for Coe, as they advanced to the quarterfinals later Saturday afternoon.
Junior Clayton Rush (Aledo, Ill./Aledo) earned his fifth technical fall of the season to open the dual.  His 21-6 win over Jake Weisman in 6:12 was his 17th win of the season at 125 pounds.  At 133 pounds, freshman Drew Hinschberger (Belle Plaine, Iowa/Belle Plaine) shutout Delian Schneider 7-0 to put the Kohawks ahead 8-0.

At 141 pounds, sophomore Jordan Westfall (Riverside, Iowa/Highland) held on for a 6-5 win over Sam Delpra.  Senior Mark Carey was a 9-4 winner over Andrew Johnson at 149 pounds, as the Kohawks extended their lead to 14-0. 

The Kohawks suffered their first loss at 157 pounds, as fourth-ranked Zach Mizer defeated ninth-ranked Dale Handley (Toddville, Iowa/Alburnett) 9-1.  Following the major decision for Heidelberg, sophomore Nick LeClere (Coggon, Iowa/North-Linn) was a 17-7 winner over Matt Curley, as the Kohawks began to pull away with an 18-4 lead heading into the final weight classes.  The top-ranked wrestler at 165 pounds, LeClere improved to 17-1 on the season.

The final loss for the Kohawks came at 174 pounds, as Dan Jonhenry defeated Seth Rehn (Oceanside, Calif./Vista) 7-1.  Coe bounced back at 184 pounds, as senior Tyler Burkle (Coggon, Iowa/North-Linn) pinned Andrew Lovins in 4:41.  Burkle, the nations top-ranked wrestler, improved to 20-2 on the year.

Coe closed the meet with an 11-4 win by senior Rob Kramer (Swisher, Iowa/Prairie) at 197 pounds and a fall by senior heavyweight Mitch Sander (Clarence, Iowa/North Cedar). 

The Kohawks return to action at 3 p.m. as they face ninth-ranked Concordia in the quarterfinals.  The winner will advance to Sunday's 11 a.m. semifinal match against #10 North Central or #2 Augsburg.
