A reception is planned for Head Football Coach Steve Staker at 4:30 p.m. Friday.
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - A celebration to
honor Coe Football Head Coach Steve Staker, the football coaching
staff, the team, and everyone associated with Kohawk football will be
held in Clark Racquet Center Friday, Jan. 15 at 4:30 p.m. All
students, faculty, staff and supporters of Kohawk athletics are invited to participate.
During the celebration, Staker will announce a few of his charities that will receive funding from the $50,000 he has to donate from the Liberty Mutual National Coach of the Year award he was presented last week. An additional $20,000 has been donated to the Coe Alumni Association from Liberty Mutual.
This award was determined 20% by fan vote, 25% from a panel of national media members and 55% from members of the College Football Hall of Fame. Staker finished the fan voting portion with over 16,000 votes.
