INDIANOLA, Iowa - Coe was able to tally just one field goal in the final 4:30 of the game, allowing the Storm to go on a 14-5 run to pull away at Cowles Fieldhouse.  Despite the loss, three Kohawks scored in double figures.
With 11:00 to play in the first half, Simpson held an 11 point lead, but the Kohawks answered with a run of their own.  The Kohawks hit four-straight 3-point baskets, two each by freshman David Mataloni (Urbandale, Iowa/Urbandale) and Jordan Cunningham (Owatonna, Minn./East), to spark a 19-1 run for the Kohawks.

The 26-19 lead with 6:38 to play in the opening half would be the largest of the game for Coe.  Simpson held Coe without a field goal in the final 3:38 of the first half, as they used an 8-1 run to take a 37-35 lead into the locker room.

Freshman Seth Light (Carlisle, Iowa/Carlisle) hit a 3-point basket with 18:48 remaining to give Coe a 40-39 lead, but it would be its final lead of the game.  Simpson answered with an 11-0 run.  Following the run, Simpson would lead by no less than eight the rest of the way.

Mataloni led the Kohawks with 12 points, while Cunningham and sophomore Kevin Gaster (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Jefferson) added 10 points apiece.  Light and junior Dan Borngraeber (Brookfield, Wis./East) added nine points for the Kohawks, while also pulling down five and four rebounds respectively.  Light also had two blocked shots and two steals.

Coe returns to action on Monday, as they host Loras.  Tipoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. at Eby Fieldhouse.
