CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - Loras (9-7, 4-3 IIAC) shot 58 percent from the field as they beat Coe (3-14, 1-7 IIAC) 77-56 Monday night at Eby Fieldhouse.  The Duhawks made 11 more field goals than the Kohawks, but were otherwise statistically balanced.
Coe trailed 9-2 in the first two minutes of the game, but used an 8-2 run midway through the first half to take their only lead of the game with 9:44 to play in the opening frame.  Loras answered with a 13-4 run to take a 37-29 lead into halftime.

The Kohawks cut the Loras lead to five in the first few minutes of the second half, but Loras made a big run late to seal the win.  With 10:51 to play, Loras used an 11-0 run to put things out of reach for the Kohawks.  Coe was held to just one field goal in the final 3:19 of the game.

Junior Alex Tatman (Humboldt, Iowa/Humboldt) came off the bench to score a game-high 19 points.  He added five rebounds, three assists and two steals to his line.  Fellow junior Dan Borngraeber (Brookfield, Wis./East) joined Tatman in double figures with 12 points, as he connected on 6-of-6 free throw attempts.  Borngraeber also had a team-high six rebounds and two steals.

Freshman Seth Light (Carlisle, Iowa/Carlisle) and junior Fred Rose (Maywood, Ill./Walther Lutheran) added five rebounds apiece.  As a team, the Kohawks shot 34 percent from the field, while being outscored in the paint 28-18.

Coe returns to action on Saturday, as they travel to Dubuque to open the second half of the Iowa Conference season.  Dubuque beat the Kohawks 63-59 earlier this year at Eby Fieldhouse.
