CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The Kohawk women returned to normal form Wednesday night, as they rolled Luther 79-36 at Eby Fieldhouse.  Junior Kayla Lincoln (Maynard, Iowa/West Central) scored a career-high 23 points in the win.  Coe hit its first seven shots as they jumped to a 17-1 lead in the first 4:10.
The Norse scored their second basket of the game with 13:45 left in the opening half, but the Kohawks answered that with a 10-2 run to take a 27-5 lead with 9:12 to play in the frame.  Coe was held scoreless in the final 3:44 of the first half, as Luther put four points on the board, cutting Coe's halftime lead to 20 points.

Coe opened the first 5:59 of the second half on a 17-4 run.  Luther then scored five of the next six points to make it a 29 point game, but the Norse wouldn't get any closer.  Coe outscored Luther 17-6 in the final 6:36, as the lead increased to 44 points at one point in the stretch. 

Coe shot 46.6 percent (27-of-58) from the field and 52.6 percent (10-of-19) from 3-point range, while holding Luther to 31.3 percent (15-of-48) shooting from the field.  The Norse went 0-of-7 from 3-point range.

The Kohawks won the battle on the boards, pulling down 44 and giving up just 28.  Coe forced 21 turnovers, scoring 29 points off of them.  Luther scored just six-points off 12 Coe turnovers.  The Kohawks won the battle of second chance points 13-5.

Sophomore Kayla Waskow (Dunkerton, Iowa/Dunkerton) joined Lincoln in double-figures with 11 points.  Sophomore Leslie Ware (Des Moines, Iowa/Johnston) added nine points on 3-of-6 shooting from 3-point range.  Lincoln hit 4-of-9 attempts from downtown.  Junior Sarah Anciaux (Iowa City, Iowa/City) added seven points off the bench, while junior Devvin Rolston (Clinton, Iowa/Clinton) threw in eight points.

Waskow had a game-high four assists, while Rolston, sophomore Ashley Hood (Manchester, Iowa/West Delaware) and Anciaux added three assists apiece.  Lincoln, Waskow and Rolston each blocked two shots, while Waskow and Anciaux stole three passes apiece.  Waskow had a game-high seven rebounds.

Coe returns to action on Saturday when they host Cornell.  Tipoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. at Eby Fieldhouse.  Cornell beat Coe 67-58 in overtime Dec. 2 in the Iowa Conference opener for both schools.
