CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - Luther used a 17-2 run late in the game to seal a 50-45 win over the Kohawks. Coe had three players score nine points, while only one player scored in double-figures in the game.
Luther jumped out to an 11-2 lead, but Coe quickly answered with a 10-3 run, cutting the lead to one. The Norse would build their lead back up to seven, but Coe used an 8-0 run late in the half before the Norse hit a 3-point basket with :18 left in the first half to take a 23-22 lead into the locker rooms.
After the Norse scored the first two buckets of the second half, Coe went on a 12-2 run to take a five-point lead with 13:11 to play. The Coe lead sparked a 17-2 run by the Norse over the next 7:26, as Coe never led again. With 4:53 to go, Coe went on a 7-0 run, but couldn't get closer than three points.

Kevin Gaster (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Jefferson) each led the Kohawks with nine-points. Cunningham and Gaster each hit two 3-point baskets. Junior
Dan Borngraeber (Brookfield, Wis./East) and Gaster led Coe with five rebounds apiece.
Freshman
David Mataloni (Urbandale, Iowa/Urbandale) had a game-high three assists, while Borngraeber blocked two shots. Cunningham, Mataloni and Rose each stole two passes.
Dane Larson was the only player to score in double-figures, as he had 15 points for Luther.
Coe returns to action on Saturday as they host Cornell. Tipoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. at Eby Fieldhouse. Cornell beat Coe 54-35 in the Iowa Conference opener on Dec. 2.
