CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - Coe took home first place in eight different events between the men's and women's teams Friday night, but it was the depth of Grinnell that led the Pioneers to two wins over the Kohawks.  The Pioneer women won 123-69, while the men won 122-46.
Junior Kelsie Rehn (Oceanside, Calif./Vista) earned the Kohawks first win in the 1650-yard freestyle, as she recorded a time of 19:01.74, beating the second place finisher by 1:03.  Rehn also won the 500-yard freestyle in 5:34.80, this time winning by :13.0. 

Rehn also swan the second leg of the first-place 200-yard freestyle team.  Sophomore Darci Schultz (Decatur, Ill./MacArthur), freshman Kelly Strohm (Cherry Hills Village, Colo./Regis Jesuit) and freshman Megan Patch (Coal Valley, Ill./Moline) recorded a time of 1:54.22 in the relay.

Coe also took first and second in both the one and three-meter diving events.  Freshman Rebecca Herman (Iowa City, Iowa/West) was first in both, scoring a 201.00 in the one-meter and 183.55 in the three-meter.  Fellow freshman Elizabeth Curley (Omaha, Neb./Millard West) was second in both.  Curley scored a 180.20 in the one-meter diving and 176.95 in the three-meter.

On the men's side, junior Peter Curran (Afton, Minn./St. Thomas Academy) took two first place honors.  Curran was first in the 200-yard individual medley in 2:07.49 and first in the 100-yard butterfly, finishing in 57.05.  Freshman Zach Ahles (Andover, Minn./Andover) was first in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:16.16.  Junior Ben Potts (Pleasant Hill, Iowa/SE Polk) was second in the 1650-yard freestyle in 18:30.80.

The Kohawks return to action Feb. 18-20 as they travel to Elsah, Ill. for the Liberal Arts Championships.
