PLATTEVILLE, Wis. - Two Kohawks took home first place honors, with one of them provisionally qualifying for the NCAA National Championships in her second event of the season Saturday at the Wisconsin-Platteville Invite. No team scores were kept at the meet.
Sophomore
Keelie Finnel (Francis Creek, Wis./Mischicot) provisionally
qualified for the NCAA National Championships in the 800-meter run. Her
time of 2:16.01 was over two seconds faster than second place and has
the 11th fastest time in the nation.
Coe had two top-five finishes in the 200-meter dash. Freshman
Stefani Wright (Chicago, Ill./St. Ignatius) was fourth in 26.99, while junior
Alisa Denny (Runnells, Iowa/PCM) was fifth in 27.10. Freshman
Sara Heizer (Milliken, Colo./Roosevelt) was third in the 400-meter dash in 1:01.42, missing first by less than a second.
Two field events had top-four finishes, as senior
Krystal Jackson (Arlington, Texas/Lamar) was third in the high jump at 1.56 meters, while freshman
Kristen Blodgett (Englewood, Colo./Cheery Creek) tied for fourth in the pole vault with a height of 3.10 meters.
On the men's side, junior
Ryan Schroeder (Byron, Ill./Byron) won the 3,000-meter run in 8:50.19. His time was over six seconds faster than second place. Senior
Lane Moser (Wapello, Iowa/Wapello) was third in the 5,000-meter run in 15:23.66.
The Kohawks return to action on Friday when they travel to the Iowa Invite in Iowa City.
