STORM LAKE, Iowa - Three Kohawks earned All-Iowa Conference honors on the first day of the 2010 Iowa Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships. Senior Lane Moser (Wapello, Iowa/Wapello) was the lone Kohawk to win a title, as he won the 5,000-meter run.


Freshman Sarah Heizer (Milliken, Colo./Roosevelt) placed eighth in the pentathlon with a score of 2,648. In the men's pentathlon, sophomore Greg Everett (Jesup, Iowa/Jesup) was seventh with a score of 3,061.

Freshman Kristen Blodgett (Englewood, Colo./Cherry Creek) earned All-Iowa Conference honors in the pole vault with a height of 3.05 meters. She finished second, as her height tied for the highest of the meet. Senior Krystal Jackson (Arlington, Texas/Lamar) improved her distance in the long jump by .1 over her season best. Jackson placed sixth with a jump of 5.04 meters.

Coe earned its other two All-Iowa Conference honors in the men's 5,000-meter run. Moser won the event in 15:18.74, cutting nearly five seconds off his seeded time. Junior Ryan Schroeder (Byron, Ill./Byron) was second in 15:20.95, also earning all-conference honors.

Junior Alisa Denny (Runnells, Iowa/PCM) was fifth in the preliminary round of the 55-meter hurdles, which advanced her to Saturday's finals. She'll enter the finals with a seeded time of 8.58.

Coe's 4x200 women's relay team just missed all-conference honors with a fourth place finish in 1:46.46.

Both men's and women's teams are in sixth place. The men enter the final day with 22 points, while the women have 20 points.
