VERO BEACH, Fla. - Coe earned its first doubleheader sweep of the season Thursday, as they beat Wisconsin-Lutheran 3-0 and 6-4.  The Kohawks used a pair of complete games from senior pitchers to keep the Warriors in check.
Freshman Nick Stein (Scottsdale, Ariz./Horizon) led off the first inning with a triple to left center field.  Sophomore Adam Nisenson (Crystal Lake, Ill./Central) drove in Stein for the game's first run, as he reached on an error by the second baseman.

Coe went scoreless until the fifth inning when senior Ryan Schisler (Morrison, Ill./Morrison) singled on an infield single to the first baseman with two outs.  Junior Ryan Velvick (Swisher, Iowa/Prairie) singled through the leftside, putting two runners on base for junior Kevin Schuver (Marion, Iowa/Marion).  Schuver doubled to left center field, driving in the final two runs of the game.

It was the first win of the season for senior Cody Raisch (Urbandale, Iowa/Urbandale), as he gave up just two hits in seven innings of work.  He struck out 11 batters, while not allowing any free passes.  Schisler and Velvick had two hits apiece in the opener.

The Kohawks struck first in the nightcap with two runs in the first inning.  Senior Pat Richmond (Algonquin, Ill./Dundee Crown) had a one-out single for the game's first hit.  An error by the shortstop allowed Richmond to move to second as Schisler reached first.  A double steal by Richmond and Schisler put them on second and third for Schuver, who singled up the middle for his third and fourth RBIs of the day.  The Warriors cut Coe's lead in half with one run in the bottom of the inning.

Coe added another run in the second inning for a 3-1 lead.  Freshman Kaileb Armbruster (DeSoto, Mo./DeSoto) beat out an infield single to shortstop with one out.  After moving to second on a wild pitch, Armbruster scored on an RBI single by Richmond.  Wisconsin-Lutheran tied the game with two runs in the fourth inning.

With one out in the top of the sixth, Armbruster scored on an inside-the-park home run to right center field, breaking the 3-3 tie.  Sophomore John Logan (Marshalltown, Iowa/Marshalltown) followed Armbruster's home run with a single.  After stealing second, Logan moved to third on a ground out by Stein.  A double down the right field line by Richmond plated Logan.  Richmond scored Coe's final run of the game on a single by Velvick.  The Warriors tacked on a run in the bottom of the seventh inning, but it wasn't enough as Coe held on for the 6-4 win.

Senior Alec Lewis (Mesa, Ariz./Red Mountain) improved to 3-0 on the mound with the win.  He gave up 10 hits, while striking out four.  Richmond was 3-for-4 on the day, while Velvick and Armbruster were 2-for-4.
