CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - Coe was scoreless and trailed by a run through six and a half innings Thursday, but used four late runs for a 4-3 win over Central in Iowa Conference play. The win improves the Kohawks to 5-2 in Iowa Conference play.
Central scored the first run of the game in the second inning off a hit and an error. They left two runners in scoring position at the end of the inning. The Kohawks would remain scoreless, while leaving four runners on base until the seventh inning.
Junior
Kevin Schuver (Marion, Iowa/Marion) walked to lead off the inning on a full count. A sacrifice bunt by sophomore
Adam Nisenson (Crystal Lake, Ill./Central) moved Schuver into scoring position. Sophomore
John Delaplane (Downers Grove, Ill./North) was hit by a pitch before freshman
Kaileb Armbruster (DeSoto, Mo./DeSoto) doubled to right center to plate both Schuver and Delaplane, giving the Kohawks their first lead of the game.

John Logan (Marshalltown, Iowa/Marshalltown) reached on an error by the shortstop. Freshman
Nick Stein (Scottsdale, Ariz./Horizon) singled through the left side to plate Armbruster, extending the Kohawk lead to 3-1.
Central tied the game in the top of the eighth with a pair of runs on two hits and a Kohawk error. Senior
Ryan Schisler (Morrison, Ill./Morrison) led off the eighth inning with his first home run of the season on a full count. The Dutch went 1-2-3 in the top of the ninth, as the Kohawks held on for the win.
Senior
Pat Richmond (Algonquin, Ill./Algonquin) had two hits to lead the Kohawks. Senior
Cody Raisch (Urbandale, Iowa/Urbandale) had a no-decision in 7.1 innings on the hill. Raisch struck out four, while giving up three runs, one of which was earned. Raisch's brother, Sean, earned the win for the Kohawks in 1.2 innings on the mound. He struck out two, while giving up just one hit.
Coe returns to action this weekend with a three-game series against lead-leaguing Buena Vista. First pitch for Friday's game is 6 p.m., while Saturday's doubleheader will start at 1 p.m. All three games are in Storm Lake.
