DES MOINES, Iowa - The Coe women's outdoor track and field team sent three relays to the 101st running of the Drake Relays this weekend.  The Kohawks placed fifth in one relay, while the other two placed 17th.
The Coe 1600 Sprint Medley team won its heat in 4:01.96, while it placed fifth overall in the field of 23.  NCAA Division II Nebraska-Omaha won the event in 3:49.11, while the Kohawks were edged by division III schools Wartburg (4:00.25) and Illinois Wesleyan (4:00.94).  Coe's team did run faster than four other Iowa Conference schools and four NCAA Division II schools.

In the 4x400-meter relay, Coe placed fifth in its heat with a time of 3:57.05, while they were 17th overall of 30 teams.  The 4x100-meter relay team was also 17th, as they were second in their heat in 49.70.  There were 33 teams entered in the 4x100 event.

Coe returns to action Saturday, as they travel to the Dubuque Invite.
