WAVERLY, Iowa - Coe turned in its best score of the Iowa Conference Men's Golf Championships Saturday, as they finished seventh at the meet. Coe scored a 318 on the final day, which was the fourth lowest score of the day overall.
Senior
Rob Copeland (Davenport, Iowa/Assumption) finished 11th, but was a stroke away from a sixth-place finish. Copeland's 311 led the team, while he shot a 78 on the final day. Copeland shot a 74 on Friday, which was the best round of the tournament for the Kohawks. In all, three of Copeland's rounds were in the 70's.
Freshman
Garrett Cross (Spring Grove, Minn./Spring Grove) was 17th with a final score of 315. Cross shot a team-best 75 on the final day, while two of his rounds were in the 70's.
Junior
Brendan George (Rockwell City, Iowa/Pomeroy-Palmer) and sophomore
Brent Miller (Monona, Iowa/MFL-Mar
Mac) finished 36th and 38th, while junior
Kyle Walters (Lisbon, Iowa/Lisbon) rounded out the Kohawks scoring in 42nd.
As a team, the Kohawks 318 on the final day edged Dubuque for the seventh spot. Coe's final score of 1298 beat the Spartans 1299. Central won the league title by 11 strokes over Central.
