INDIANOLA, Iowa - Coe scored three early runs, but it was the three late runs and a defensive stance that led to a 6-3 win over Loras in the Iowa Conference Tournament. The win improved Coe to 12-7 all-time in the IIAC Tournament, the second most wins in league history.

Callie Morningstar (Lisbon, Iowa/Lisbon) moved Wedemeier to second with a sacrifice bunt. Senior
Chelsea Zaugg (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Xavier) singled to right field to move Wedemeier to third.
With runners on the corners, Zaugg stole second, while she moved to third, and Wedemeier scored, on a throwing error by the second baseman. Coe's second run of the inning came on an RBI single to left field by senior
Mackenzie Lang (Urbandale, Iowa/Johnston), plating Zaugg.

CC Williams (Lisbon, Iowa/Lisbon) singled to left field to start the second inning. Sophomore
Jacki Finley (Lone Tree, Iowa/Lone Tree), who was pinch running for Williams, moved to second on a sacrifice bunt by sophomore
Sidney Ridout (Indianola, Iowa/Indianola). Finley scored on a double to left field by sophomore
Amanda Hanson (Riverside, Iowa/Highland).
The Duhawks plated a pair of runs in the fourth inning, but Coe answered back with three more runs in the fifth. Zaugg singled up the middle to start the inning, before moving to second on a sacrifice bunt from Lang. A groundout from junior

Katie Gibson (Bonne Terre, Mo./North County) doubled to right center to plate Zaugg. With two outs, Williams homered to left center, plating sophomore

Ashlee Simon (Riverside, Iowa/Highland) struck out Palczynski to end the game. Simon, whom started the game and came back on in relief, struck out 12 batters in 5.2 innings of work. Senior
Katie Kramer (Nevada, Iowa/Ames) struck out three in 1.1 innings in the circle.
Zaugg had two runs and two hits for Coe, while Williams drove in two runs, while having two hits.
Coe returns to action Friday night at 6 p.m. in the consolation round of the tournament. The Kohawks will face either third-seeded Central or fifth-seeded Buena Vista.
