CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - Senior Greg Janssen (Oshkosh, Wis./West) earned his third All-Iowa Conference honor in singles Saturday, as he was crowned the 2010 Iowa Conference Singles Champion.  Janssen was a quarterfinalist in 2007 and 2009, allowing him to be a member of the All-IIAC team.
Janssen, the tournament's six seed, beat Jake Reitz of Luther 8-2 in the first round before beating Cornell's Garrett Russikoff 8-1.  In the quarterfinals, Janssen beat fourth-seeded Mitch Eslick of Wartburg 7-5, 7-6 (5).  Janssen advanced to the finals with a walkover win against top-seeded Scott Sundstrom of Luther.  In the finals, Janssen defeated second-seeded Nick Garcia of Dubuque 6-3, retired.

Junior Elliot Rausa (Waterloo, Iowa/Columbus) also earned All-Iowa Conference honors in singles with a third place finish.  Rausa, the tournament's third seed, beat Luther's Nick Mozena 8-4 in the first round before defeating Luther's Samriddh Burman in the second round.  Rausa beat fifth-seeded Harrison Whiteley of LUther 7-5, 6-2 in the quarterfinals before falling to Garcia 6-3, 6-2 in the semifinals.  Rausa won by walkover against Sundstrom in the third-place match. 

Playing together for the first time in doubles, Rausa and Janssen earned their third All-Iowa Conference honors with a second place finish.  Seeded third in the bracket, the Kohawk team defeated Piepkorn and Zinnecker of Luther 8-5 in the first round.  They then defeated fellow Kohawks Jonathan Roger (Minneapolis, Minn./St. Anthony Village) and sophomore Doug Land (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Washington) 8-4 in the quarterfinals. 

Janssen and Rausa earned their all-conference honors with an 8-1 win over second seeded Rijal and Martin of Luther.  The duo fell to top-seeded Eslick and Tom Koenen of Wartburg 8-5.  Rausa was a part of the Iowa Conference doubles championship team last year, while finishing second in 2008.  Janssen was a second place finisher in 2007 and fourth place finisher in 2008.
