STORM LAKE, Iowa - Coe had nine members of the track and field squad earn All-Iowa Conference honors, while crowning three Iowa Conference Champions at the 2010 outdoor track and field championships. Junior
Sarah Anciaux (Iowa City, Iowa/City) won the shot put and automatically qualified for the NCAA Championships.
Anciaux also provisionally qualified in the discus throw, where she
finished first with a toss of 149' 10". Her distance was the fourth
furthest in the nation. Sophomore
Keelie Finnel (Francis Creek, Wis./Mishicot) provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championships in the 400-meter dash. She finished second in 55.85 with the third fastest time in the nation.
The women's 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams both provisionally qualified for nationals with the 21st fastest times in the nation. The 4x100 was second in 48.39, while the 4x400 was second in 3:54.29.
Junior
Ryan Schroeder (Byron, Ill./Byron) won the 5,000-meter run in
15:07.40 after finishing second in the event last year. Junior Kyle
Heineman (Readlyn, Iowa/Wapsie
Valley) was second in the 1,500-meter run in 4:00.54, finishing just
over a second behind first place.
Freshman Jared Kuehner (Center Point, Iowa/Center Point-Urbana) took
second in the high jump. He earned all-conference honors with a height
of 6' 5". Senior
Leonard Froissard (Valenciennes, France/Valenciennes) was third in the 800-meter run in 1:54.47.
Freshman
Sara Heizer (Milliken, Colo./Roosevelt) was fifth in the
400-meter hurdles in 1:03.05. Her time provisionally qualified her for
nationals with the 12th fastest time in the nation. Anciaux finished fourth in the javelin throw with a toss of 117' 10". Junior
Alisa Denny (Runnells, Iowa/PCM) was fifth in the 100-meter hurdles in
15.37.
Senior
Lane Moser (Wapello, Iowa/Wapello) was fourth in the 10,000 meter run with a time of 32:44.85. Senior
Dale Anderson (Dubuque, Iowa/Dubuque) was fifth in the discus throw with a toss of 137' 9".
The top three finishers in all events earned All-Iowa Conference honors. The women finished sixth with 66 points, while the men were seventh with 51 points.
