CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - Junior Ryan Schisler (Morrison, Ill./Morrison) has been selected to the CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-American First Team.  Schisler is the 31st Kohawk to be selected for the award and just the fifth first-team selection.
Schisler joins Matt Novak in 1979 and Todd Wenck in 1996 as the only baseball players at Coe to earn the honor.  Novak and Wenck were both second-team selections.

Hitting .416 on the year, Schisler led the way for the Kohawks in their third-straight 20-win season.  He tallied a team-high 67 hits, the third most in school history.  His .360 career batting average ranks fifth all-time, while his 478 career at-bats are the sixth most in school history.  Schisler is one of just four players at Coe to surpass 170 hits in their career.

Schisler majored in history with a 3.97 cumulative GPA.  He had the third highest GPA in his class, while being awarded the Courtney Award.  A First Team All-Iowa Conference selection this year, Schisler will be one of seven starting position players to return to the Kohawks next season.
