CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - For the third time this summer, the Kohawks are ranked in a preseason poll.  Coe is ranked 12th in the D3football.com poll, the highest of their three preseason rankings.
The Kohawks were previously ranked 18th in The Sporting News poll and 20th in the USA Today Top 25 poll.  This marks the second time Coe has been ranked in the D3football.com preseason poll, as they were 22nd in 2006.

Head Coach Steve Staker's squad finished the 2009 campaign ranked 10th in the D3football.com poll and 12th in the AFCA Coaches Poll.  Coe finished the season 10-2, while advancing to the second round of the NCAA Division III Playoffs.

The Kohawks return 35 letterwinners from last season's team that also has 17 starters coming back.  The Kohawks will be led by reigning Iowa Conference MVP Brad Boyle (New Sharon, Iowa/North Mahaska) at quarterback and D3football.com All-American Frank Weymiller (New Albin, Iowa/Waukon) at defensive end.

Coe is one of two IIAC schools ranked in all three polls.  Defending Iowa Conference Champion Central is seventh in the D3football.com poll, 10th in the USA Today poll and ninth in The Sporting News poll.  The two teams square off September 25 at Clark Field.

Coe opens the season September 4 at Iowa Wesleyan.
