CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The Coe men's soccer team opened the season with a 3-0 win over Westminster Wednesday at Clark Field.  The Kohawks earned goals from three different players in the first meeting ever between the two schools.
The match entered the second half without a goal, but the Kohawks turned it on in the final 21 minutes of play.  Sophomore Jacob Johnson (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Washington) punched through the first goal of the season in the 69th minute.  In the 82nd minute, junior Eddie Knebel (Iowa City, Iowa/City) scored.

In the 87th minute, sophomore Pat Montag (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Kennedy) found junior Nathan Kurtz (St. Louis, Mo./Crossroads College Prep) for the final goal of the match.

Junior Grady Brown (Madison, Wisc./Madison Memorial) earned the save in the net, as he recorded three saves.

The Kohawks return to action on Saturday, as they travel to Monmouth.  Kickoff is scheduled for Noon.
