HANOVER, Ind.- Sophomore Ashley Schnell (Lincoln, Neb./North Star) became the first Coe College cross country runner to earn All-American honors on Saturday as she placed 33rd at the NCAA National Championships. Schnell ran a time of 21:37.96 in the 279 runner field.

This was the second-straight year that Schnell has qualified for the national championships. Schnell's time broke the school record that she had twice broken already this season.

Senior Brad O'Neil (Stuarts Draft, Vir./Stuarts Draft) also qualified for the NCAA National Championships for the second-straight year. O'Neil improved upon his finish from last season, as he placed 51st in the 278 runner field. O'Neil ran in a time of 25:14.36

Thirty-two teams were selected to participate in each championship. The top two, seven-person teams automatically qualified from each of the eight regions, for a total of 16 teams. Sixteen additional teams were selected at-large. Fifty-six individuals, the first seven athletes from each region who are not a part of a qualifying team, were selected to participate in each championship.

Hanover College hosted the championships at the L.S. Ayres Complex in Hanover, Indiana.
