Tom Wakeland scored his first goal of the season against Simpson, the only goal of the match for either team.
INDIANOLA, Iowa - Junior Tom Wakeland (Bettendorf, Iowa/Bettendorf) scored his first goal of the season Wednesday, as the Kohawks beat Simpson 1-0 at Buxton Stadium. It was the second Iowa Conference win in a row for Coe.
Early in the second half, sophomore Jacob Johnson (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Washington) found Wakeland, as he punched it in on the left side. The goal would stand for the final forty-minutes, giving the Kohawks the 1-0 win.
Junior Grady Brown (Madison, Wis./Memorial) recorded three saves in the net for the Kohawks.
Coe returns to action on Saturday, as they travel to Loras for a 7 p.m. match.
