CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - With three convincing wins on Saturday, the Coe women's tennis team improved to 5-0 on the season. Coe defeated Grinnell 8-1 before beating Illinois Wesleyan and Buena Vista 9-0. 

Five Kohawks picked up a set of wins in the match over Grinnell, with Hannah Jensen (Iowa City, Iowa/West) defeating Jill Akiyama 6-2, 6-0 at number two singles and Hillary Allen (Ft. Collins, Colo./Ft. Collins) beating Katie Colver 6-1, 6-2 at number four singles.

The Kohawks finished the day with a pair of shutouts. In the 9-0 win over the Titans, Allen and Katy Delagardelle (Waterloo, Iowa/Columbus) both picking up 6-0, 6-0 victories. Jensen and Delagardelle earned an 8-1 win at number three singles.

In the nightcap, Coe made quick work of Buena Vista with six of the nine matches being shutouts. Molly Fiala (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Jefferson), Susan Gilmore (Des Moines, Iowa/Lincoln) and Courtney Koepke (Cary, Ill./Cary Grove) all earned 6-0, 6-0 singles victories. Fiala teamed with Andrea Schupbach (Waterloo, Iowa/Columbus) earned an 8-0 win at number one doubles.

The Kohawks return to action Sunday morning as they face Iowa Conference rival Cornell at 9 a.m.
