CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The honors keep coming for junior
Keelie Finnel (Francis Creek, Wis./Mischicot). Finnel was recently named the United States Track & Field/Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Central Region Female Track Athlete of the Year.
Finnel, who recorded one of the season's top five times in the 400 meters, focused on the 800-meter event at last weekend's NCAA Division III Indoor Championships, where she became just the second female runner to win an indoor National Championship. At the Tyson Invitational, she ran the fastest time in the nation, 2:10.62, and won the National Championship in 2:11.13. She also runs anchor leg on Coe's 4x400-meter relay, which earned All-American honors with a seventh-place finish at the NCAA Championships.
