CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The Coe women's tennis team lost a close match with nationally-ranked Washington University of St. Louis this morning at Clark Racquet Center.

The Kohawks trailed 2-1 after doubles play, but weren't able to earn five wins in singles play as they lost 5-4.

Juniors Hillary Allen (Ft. Collins, Colo./Ft. Collins) and Megan Fiala (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Jefferson) earned an 8-6 win at number two doubles, keeping the Kohawks within striking distance heading to singles play.

Allen, along with junior Andrea Schupbach (Waterloo, Iowa/Columbus) and sophomore Katy Delagardelle (Waterloo, Iowa/Columbus), were all victorious in singles play.

Coe, 6-1 on the year, will return to action tomorrow as they travel to Dubuque to face Loras and Dubuque.
