CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The Coe volleyball team earned its first Iowa Conference win of the season on senior night at Eby Fieldhouse Tuesday. Coe cruised by Buena Vista in convincing fashion, winning 3-0.

While the Beavers kept it close in game one, with Coe winning 25-22, the Kohawks opened the match up in the second and third games, not allowing the Beavers to score over 19 points.

Senior Shayla Chalker (Melbourne, Aus./Upwey) led the Kohawks with a triple-double of 13 kills, 17 assists and 11 digs. She was one of three Kohawks to finish in double-figures in digs, as freshman Kayla Karpuk (Sioux City, Iowa/Heelan) had 12 and sophomore Katy Heater (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Linn-Mar) added a team-high 13.

The Kohawks also poured in nine serving aces, led by senior Kate Olson's (St. Louis Park, Minn./St. Louis Park) three. Chalker and sophomore Taylor Coots (Bettendorf, Iowa/Bettendorf) added two apiece.

Senior Rachel Robbins (Centennial, Colo./Arapahoe) had 14 assists.

As a team, the Kohawks hit .343 in the third set, connecting on 15 kills, while only committing three errors. Sophomore Lacey Ganske (Sumner, Iowa/Sumner) connected on four of five attack attempts in the set.

The Kohawks will finish their season next Tuesday, as they travel to Mt. Mercy. The match is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m.
