
On the women's side, the Kohawks placed seventh with 177 points. While the women placed seventh last season as well, they improved their score by 12 points.
Senior Brad O'Neil (Stuarts Draft, Vir./Stuarts Draft) led the Kohawks with a fourth place finish in 24:34.46. It was O'Neil's best time of the season, breaking his previous best by :12, set two weeks ago at Wisconsin-Oshkosh. His time stands as the fastest time in school history.
Two other Kohawks earned All-Iowa Conference honors on the men's side. Sophomore Ryan Schroeder (Byron, Ill./Byron) and junior Lane Moser (Wapello, Iowa/Wapello) both finished in the top 15. Schroeder placed 8th in 24:53.13, while Moser had an 11th place finish in 24:58.63. Sophomore DC Cusanelli (Saint Jacob, Ill./Triad) just missed earning all-conference honors with his 16th place finish in 25:02.83.
Sophomore Ashley Schnell (Lincoln, Neb./North Star) was the only all-conference performer for the women, as she placed 13th in 21:37.22. It was the first all-conference cross country honors for Schnell. Her time broke the previous school record of 22:23, which was set by Jenna Boerboom in 2003.
The Kohawks will have next week off before the NCAA Regional Championships. Grinnell College is the host of this year's regional, which will start at 11 a.m. on Nov. 15.
