CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The Coe women's tennis team earned a 9-0 win over Wisconsin-Stevens Point on Saturday. With the win, Coe has now won all 27 matches they have played this season, improving to 3-0 on the year.
At number one singles, junior
Michelle Schupbach (Cedar Falls, Iowa/Columbus) beat Rachel Brown 6-0, 6-0. At number two singles, sophomore
Tai Lucero (Odessa, Texas/Permian) kept the unbeaten streak alive with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Taylor Weuve. Schupbach and Lucero combined for an 8-2 win over Brown and Weuve.
At number three singles,
Sara Ohlman (Washington, Ill./Washington) beat Katelyn Presti 6-1, 6-0. Freshman
Jackie Pedersen (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Kennedy) was a 6-1, 6-2 winner over Monica Preisig at number four singles. At number two doubles, Ohlman and Pedersen beat Allison Fortier and Preisig 8-1.
Freshman
Jordan Ferree (Pekin, Ill./Pekin) beat Fortier 6-0, 6-1 at number five singles. Sophomore
Elizabeth Hoffmann (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Xavier) defeated Kristen Finstad 6-0, 6-0. Hoffmann and Ferree combined for an 8-2 win over Presti and Molly Hendries.
The Kohawks return to action on Sunday, as they travel to Dubuque for a pair of matches against Dubuque and Loras.
