DECORAH, Iowa - The Coe men's basketball team dropped its third-straight IIAC game of the season Saturday, as they fell to Luther 71-52. Luther's hot shooting and Coe's low field goal percentage helped the Norse in the win, as the Kohawks fell to 0-3 in the Iowa Conference.

Coe shot just 27 percent from the field, while the Norse hit 47 percent of their shots, including 33 percent from 3-point range.

Coe led by three with 8:07 to play in the first half before the Norse opened the game up. Luther went on a 17-4 run to close the opening period, giving them a 10-point lead at the break.

With 13:52 to play in the game, Luther hit a 3-point basket to end a 16-6 run, puting them ahead of Coe by 20 points. They would later increase the lead to 23 with 9:14 to play, but the Kohawks tried to rally late. With 3:17 to play, senior Kevin Dux (Boulder, Colo./Fairview) hit a pair of free throws to cut the lead to 13 points, but the Kohawks couldn't come any closer the rest of the way.

Sophomore Alex Tatman (Humboldt, Iowa/Humboldt) led the Kohawks with 15 points. Dux and sophomore Dan Borngraeber (Brookfield, Wis./East) each added eight points in the loss. Borngraeber also had a team-high nine rebounds.

The Kohawks return to action next Saturday as they host Wartburg. Tipoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. at Eby Fieldhouse.
