PELLA, Iowa - The Coe wrestling team kicked off the dual portion of their schedule with an impressive 46-0 win over Central. In the win, the Kohawks tallied three wins by technical fall and two by fall. 

Coe earned bonus points on three-straight matches, as sophomore Brandon Ball (Columbus Junction, Iowa/Columbus Junction) scored a 16-0 technical fall in 4:00 over Alex May. Freshman Johny Siegel (New London, Iowa/New London) followed that up with a 13-3 major decision over Curtis Hobbs. Junior Mark Carey (Raytown, Mo./South) then earned a 16-1 technical fall in 3:24.

Junior Tyler Burkle (Coggon, Iowa/North-Linn) extended his winning streak to 43 matches with a 17-1 technical fall over Ivan Gaeta in 5:20. Coe ended the meet with pins from Greg Lalla (Iowa City, Iowa/City) and Rob Kramer (Swisher, Iowa/Prairie). Both falls came in under 1:32. Mitch Sander (Clarence, Iowa/North Cedar) earned a win by forfeit to end the night.

Coe returns to action on Friday as they travel to the Iowa City Duals. The Kohawks will face defending NCAA Division I National Champion Iowa at 9 a.m. at the Iowa Fieldhouse. Coe will also face Iowa Central and Minnesota State on Friday.
