GRINNELL, Iowa - The Coe College women's swimming and diving team placed sixth at the Grinnell Invite Saturday, while the men finished 13th.  The Kohawks finished Friday's first session of the meet in second place.

Coe's 200-yard medley relay team opened the meet with a sixth place finish.  The team of Kenni Sterns (Longmont, Colo./Silver Creek), Amanda Ickes (Marion, Iowa/Xavier), Ariana Uding (Chicago, Ill./Whitney M. Young) and Andi Queisner (Fort Madison, Iowa/Fort Madison) finished in 1:59.57.  In the 400-meter IM, Kelly Strohm (Cherry Hills Village, Colo./Regis Jesuit) was 20th in 5:43.14, earning the Kohawks a team point.  Uding earned a 10th-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly, recording a time of 1:05.64.

In the 200-yard freestyle, Sterns finished fourth in 2:06.98, while Uding was 18th in 2:13.13.  Ickes placed 15th in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:16.44, while Queisner was 17th in 1:16.60.  Sterns added a seventh-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke, finishing in a time of 1:06.96, while Shannon Loria (Palatine, Ill./William Fremd) was 19th in 1:10.07.

Coe's team of Queisner, Uding, Lindsay Meade (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Kennedy) and Sterns placed eighth in the 800-yard freestyle relay with a time of 8:50.63.  The Kohawks had a second team, consisting of Mickey Meyer (Dubuque, Iowa/Hempstead), Ickes, Haley Otis (Des Moines, Iowa/Dowling) and Loria, finish 14th in 9:32.01.  Sterns added another top-four finish to her meet resume with a third-place finish in the 1,650-yard freestyle, finishing in 19:38.86.  Coe also got team points from Meyer in the 1,650, as she finished 18th in 21:53.62.  

On the one-meter diving board, Rebecca Herman (Iowa City, Iowa/West) was third with a score of 347.55.  Sterns placed ninth in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:26.30, while Darci Schultz (Decatur, Ill./MacArthur) was 18th in 2:31.78.  Loria also earned team points in the 200-yard backstroke, finishing 19th in 2:32.99.  Uding placed 11th in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of :58.68 and 12th in the 200-yard breaststroke, finishing in 2:44.52.  Queisner also scored in the 200-yard breaststroke, placing 18th in 2:49.79.  

Coe's final points came in the 400-yard freestyle relay, as they placed eighth in 4:02.17.  Ickes, Queisner, Uding and Sterns made up the 400-yard freestyle relay team.  Coe also had a relay place 15th, consisting of Schultz, Meade, Loria and Strohm.

For the men, Colin Conway (Wauwatosa, Wis./Milwaukee Lutheran) was 19th in the 1,650-yard freestyle.

The Kohawk women placed sixth with 434 points in the 13-team field.  The men finished 13th with 54 points.
