Tiedt joined the Kohawk coaching staff in the Spring of 2010, serving as the Assistant Tennis Coach for the Men and Women under Coe's winningest Head Coach, Eric Rodgers. In the summer 2014, Tiedt was named the Head Coach for Women's Tennis. Tiedt also serves as the Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Tennis, Soccer and Golf programs at Coe. Tiedt is a three-time Iowa Conference Women's Tennis Coach of the Year (2013, 2014 & 2015).
The Kohawks have appeared in four-straight NCAA Tournaments and won five-straight Iowa Conference Championships. Under Tiedt's direction, Haley Resnick '18 has won back-to-back Iowa Conference MVP honors. Coe has also won five-straight Iowa Conference Flight A Singles titles and eight-straight Iowa Conference Flight A Doubles titles. A pair of Kohawks (Tai Lucero '14 and Michelle Schupbach '13) have advanced to the NCAA National Individuals Tournament during Tiedt's tenure.
An Iowa City native, her on-court achievements earned her a full athletic scholarship to Northern Illinois University. At NIU, Tiedt was named NIU's Most Valuable Player her sophomore season. As a junior, Tiedt posted a team-best 17 doubles wins, and team-best 15 singles victories, earning her the annual Coaches Award due to her work ethic and dedication. As a Huskie, Tiedt also donned a soccer jersey her senior year, making her one of an elite group of individuals to have competed and earned a varsity letter in two sports at the Division I level. Based on her athletic success and numerous academic awards, Tiedt has been deemed "one of the most versatile and active student-athletes" in NIU history.
As a coach, Tiedt emphasizes the importance of well-rounded student-athletes. Tiedt graduated Magna Cum Laude from NIU with a major in Finance, minor in Communications and an emphasis in Accounting. Tiedt then attended graduate school at the University of Iowa, obtaining her law degree in 2005 and Masters in Business Administration, with distinction, in 2006. Tiedt is currently an inactive licensed attorney in the State of Iowa. She served as an Adjunct Instructor at Coe in the Spring of 2014; teaching Business Law. Having once served as a volunteer firefighter, Tiedt also has a FF1 license (250 hours of training).
Tiedt still competes in tennis, ultimate frisbee and triathlons. Taking to the court herself, Tiedt played two 30's National Tournaments in 2010 and finished the year ranked #3 in the National singles rankings and #5 for doubles individually. In 2011, Tiedt played four entry level $10K pro tournaments (Cleveland, Atlanta, Evansville and St. Joseph), along with the U.S. Open Qualifier in Minneapolis. Tiedt picked up her first Gold Ball in 2014, having won the 35's National Indoor Championship Doubles (partnered with Yulia Bolotova); Tiedt took 2nd in Singles. In total, Tiedt holds a Gold Ball, four Silver and a Bronze.
Tiedt resides in Cedar Rapids with her daughter, Emmie.

Molly Fiala Garber

A longtime member of the Kohawk tennis family, Garber joined the staff in the fall of 2014. A Cedar Rapids native, Garber is the most decorated female player in school history.
Garber graduated with 175 career wins and held the top spot on the career singles and doubles list upon graduation in 2009. The four-time Iowa Conference MVP twice qualified for the NCAA Singles National Championship. She also qualified for the 2009 NCAA National Doubles Championships with Andrea Schupbach. Garber also won the ITA Central Region Singles Championship and partnered with Schupbach to win the 2009 ITA Central Region Doubles Championship, advancing to the ITA National finals both years. Garber is the only female tennis player in school history to earn All-American honors in singles and doubles.
Garber obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Coe's renowned Nursing program in 2009. She also received a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish. Garber obtained her Masters of Science in Nursing and Family Nurse Practitioner license in May 2015. Garber currently works as a Nurse Practitioner in Cedar Rapids.
Garber resides in Cedar Rapids with her husband, Chad, and their twin boys, Ryley & Ryker. She enjoys traveling, shopping for the boys and spending time with family and friends.
